As is going to be the case with a lot of the weights here, this is a pretty solid group here. Tovar and Rackliffe had seasons that would seem to put them a step ahead, but this is a game group behind them. Santiago spent most of the year at 113 and wrestled very well there, Vescovi is battle tested, and Finnerty racked up 27 wins. Any of those three is capable of an upset.
Prediction: 1. Tovar (Wall) / 2. Rackliffe (Brick Twp) / 3. Santiago (Neptune)

Top-seeded Maliff has had some bad luck in his previous two District Tournaments, getting knocked out in the opening round each time, while the 2nd-seeded Mulligan is a two-time medalist. 3rd-seeded Brown spent much of the year wrestling at 120 where he had a few standout wins, he has not lost at 113 this year and is coming off a nice win over Freehold Twp's Nick DePierro last weekend. The potential semifinal bout between he and Mulligan could be a good one.
Prediction: 1. Mulligan (Brick Twp) / 2. Maliff (Brick Mem) / 3. Brown (Neptune)

If the seeds hold here, and I think they will, then the stage will be set for a matchup between returning District Champions in Ghione and Nobbs. Ghione, a 2-time State Placer, handed Nobbs, who qualified for States as a frosh last year, his lone loss of the season during the opening weekend when he defeated him 5-2 at the TCNJ Pride Tourney.

Staub, a 3-time state qualifier at Hamilton West, highlights a very solid and balanced field here. Budzek, a runner-up in 2011, is the 2nd-seed and holds a 2-0 win over the 6th-seeded Capriglione, showing a little bit of just how tight this weight can be. Haymon, a 3rd-place finisher last year, has won 18 out of this last 20 matches, while the 4/5 match of Wishart vs. Sanderson is a matchup between two wrestlers that have scored some solid individual wins this season.

2-time defending champion Harter, the top-seed, has had a solid senior year for Pt. Boro compiling a 27-3 record with all three losses coming by a single point. He has a very strong field behind him, including Neptune's Waldron, who is looking to become the program's first 3-time champion since 1981 and has not lost since dropping a pair at the season opening Neptune Classic, 21-bout winner Finnerty of Beach, and Wojtaszek who registered 22 wins competing mostly at 126.
Prediction: 1. Harter (Pt Boro) / 2. Waldron (Neptune) / 3. Wojtaszek (Brick Twp)

Another field that should have a great run for the three medal slots. Top-seeded Donovan is a returning champ, while the 2nd-seeded Cimmino is a 3-time placer looking for his first championship. If the seeds hold, it would set up what would should be one of the better District finals in the Region. There's work to do for both of them though before they can think finals as Kinsella, a returning runner-up that finished one win shy of a Region medal, is in Cimmino's half of the bracket, while Donovan has the always dangerous Harris in his half.

Perhaps the most wide-open weight here. Koenig is the top-seed and very quietly had a solid season for Shore with his 26 victories. The 4/5 matchup of Montenfinese and Pollara will be interesting as both wrestlers have some quality wins under their resume that show they are capable of breaking through into the Top 3. The Dragons schedule could give Pollara a bit of an advantage here. #2 R Ruggiero is the most battle-tested of this group which should give him a bit of an edge. Kelly from Beach had a strong year for the Gulls picking up 24 wins on his way to earning the 3rd-seed.

C Ruggiero, a returning champion, is as fun to watch on his feet as anyone in the Shore. Blink and you may miss the home run. He is a strong favorite to return to the final from his half of the bracket. The bottom bracket is highlighted by two of the Shore's rising young talents. 2nd-seeded Donner has had a monster freshman campaign, recording a 27-1 record with his lone loss coming to state-ranked Dom Ruggierrio of Timber Creek. The 3-seed, Scott, has been on role as of late and is coming off a week that saw him knock off Orion Rovegno of Ocean, and Joe Salvato of TR South.

Wojtaszek is a returning champion and a strong favorite to repeat here. Beverly, who came from out of nowhere to place 3rd in this weight last season, followed his surprise run with solid 23-win senior campaign for the Stangs. If the seeds hold, he'll face Caraballo of Neptune in the semis in a rematch of an earlier bout won by Beverly, 1-0.

It's hard to see anyone here preventing a Richardson/Brown final, which would be a rematch of last year's 170-pound final won by Brown, 13-9. Both wrestlers would eventually punch their tickets to Atlantic City, and will be in the mix to make repeat trips again this season. The battle for 3rd should come down to Baillie and Van Glahn, as Baillie would appear to be a strong favorite in his quarterfinal, while Van Glahn already holds a major of his quarter opponent, Fioretti.
Prediction: 1. Brown (Neptune) / 2. Richardson (Brick Mem) / 3. Baillie (Shore)

Both top-seeded Donner and 2nd-seeded Costa are two-time placers, with Costa having won a title last season. Costa has also finished in the Top 6 at Regions the last two years. The two are pretty solid favorites to make the finals here. The battle for 3rd should be tight, but I'm leaning with the 4th-seeded Fattaruso who missed a good amount of time with an injury, but put together a couple nice wins down the stretch since returning.

As one of the few remaining unbeatens in the Shore, Moore, a returning champ and a state placer, is the solid favorite here. The 2nd-seeded Romanelli just defeated 3rd-seeded Dzuna, 15-2, in a dual and is the strong pick to meet up with Moore in the finals.

Very strong weight class here as you have Poling, the runner-up at heavyweight last season, and Seidle, last year's champ in this weight class, at the 1 and 2 respectively. Add in #3 Dzugan, 2nd at 195 a year ago, and #4 Infante, a frosh with 23 wins, as well as Musselman and Morris, and it shapes up as a pretty strong group.
Prediction: 1. Seidle (Neptune) / 2. Poling (Brick Mem) / 3. Dzugan (Brick Twp)
Hwt
With Poling going to down to 220, the heavyweight division gets much more open. Last year's champ Perez is back, but is in the #2 spot after suffering a defeat to the top-seeded D'Amore. Both Nasen and Figueroa can't be counted out of the title chase out of the 4/5 slot, and the 6th-seeded Gliddon could be a sleeper as well, having lost in sudden victory to D'Amore earlier in the year. The 3rd-seeded Warner placed 3rd at 195 last year and will be in the mix as well.
